No worries at all about this trimester.  Let's get together within the next two weeks and figure out a plan for trimester two.  Tell me a few dates in the next couple of weeks that work for you and I will make sure Todd and I are both present.

Stacey,

I apologize but I cannot get meeting times with Todd that work – have tried several times – often go to find him as well but he is not in media center – I know he wears many hats: this is NOT a criticism or complaint.  However, I do not have time to stall on the tech project ideas any longer and have taken it off the due dates for this trimester.  I will try again next trimester…I simply must go forward with Speak being finished and a paper being done at this point so I am heading kids in that direction.  Thank you.

Susan,

This upcoming week:  Nov 3-7 is awkward for my schedule...I'm at a conference on Wed and Thursday.

Let's chat and see if there is another time we can meet.

Okay, that day is a little hairy…The kids have not done any kind of project on SPEAK before; they have written a paper.  I am doing tech project instead of paper this time.

Susan,

Let's try next Friday:  Nov 7:  I know that's grandparents day and our schedule is slightly adjusted but we can find a mutual time even with the change in the day.

Remind me what the class assignment has been in the past.

I started to research some class lessons and projects and found a good start...Anderson uses a Tree as a symbol for Melinda's growth throughout the novel...have students "select" another symbol that represents Melinda and use (a selection of vehicles/technology) to explain why they selected their specific symbol.

Hi, Todd:

When can you and I meet so that you can suggest some different technology formats for kids to do their SPEAK tech project?  I'd like to be able to get an assignment together and rubric within the next couple weeks – and have some ideas re: different "formats" /programs for them to consider…  Please advise, and thank you, scf
