Students are learning infinitives and preparing for next grammar test; students will re-submit a less than stellar set of essays on the novel SPEAK; students will have a writing assignment that involves deductive/inductive reasoning and is based on their out-of-class novel, a mystery; students continue their year-long study of roots and unlocking new words based on roots.

Mon., Jan. 13 – ALL Blocks: Roots 8 test; hand out study sheet for grammar test 1-22/1-23.

Tues., Jan. 14 – A day; go over SSWE in class – if we have gotten to infinitives; otherwise, we are learning infinitives..

Wed., Jan. 15 – A day: Book of choice should be read by today; quiz on book of choice; go over SSWE in class.

Thurs., Jan. 16 – Blocks 4,7,6: Book of choice should be read by today; quiz on book of choice. ;go over SSWE in class; diagramming.

Fri., Jan. 17 – ALL blocks: Roots 9 test. Take home all grammar notes for study. Turn in corrected SPEAK papers – do not create new errors – your original grade may be penalized… I love you…
